Flu Like Symptoms

The flu is making the rounds in Boston, sending kids home from school and easing road traffic. Greeting people has become a negotiation. There's the hesitation, then the usual handshake or hug. Recently, an acquaintance bowed, Japenese-style. Better safe than sorry, I suppose. Ironically, all of this concern over safety seems to have made people a little more aware of the space they share with others. It's become a deliberate act to greet people, which is okay in a way, as long as it doesn't last too long.
