Tech's Nursery

Is your company built to last or built to be sold?  Few of us who toil in the trenches want to think we work in a company that's destined for sale.  But it happens all the time.  Today's news that 3Com is getting acquired by HP is more than a sign that the tech sector is maturing and moving toward consolidation.  It's also a reminder that good companies can have a second life if they survive the ups and downs long enough to get acquired.  Before that endgame, however, most companies go through heady days as a start-up, eagerly chasing new customers and lusting for industry recognition.  That's the buzz you hear at tech events these days, like the meetup at last night's Massachusetts Innovation Nights. Call it Tech's Nursery.
